This is NOT a typical
training exercise. Gus is not really old enough for
regular training runs,
so, there are several, long rest ad water stops.
Mileage is about 15 miles.
The 3 wheel training cart plus Denise and
my weight on it, five gallon water
container, four water buckets, weighs
over 500 pounds. Elevation is 4,333 feet above sea level on average.
It is in the upper 20's F this morning.
<BELOW> The run begins at 0600 PST. The dogs have been fed and hyper-hydrated.
<BELOW> The sun is just about to rise on a very cold Labor Day morning, 2004.
<BELOW> Denise
is the primary driver this morning. So, we both can ride easily, we are using
our
lighter 3 wheel training cart instead of the 4 wheeler.
<BELOW> Our two leaders, ready to go.
<BELOW> Gus, the Siberian of the hour .......getting ready for his first long training run with Gunnar.
<BELOW> The first water and rest stop after climbing a hill.
<BELOW> The third leg of the run, headed back.
<BELOW> Third rest and water stop. It is still only in the upper 30's F.
