The vests that we use are
made by Trail Designs. They have a number of pockets and compartments
inside and out. On the back of the vest (not shown), there is
a large pouch we modify to hold our water bottles. We use the
vest in lieu of a pack because it spreads the weight out more
evenly. The vest is only used for day hikes where a minimum of
gear and food and water are required.
